My name is Yuanqing Yao and I am currently a senior at Rhode Island School of Design, studying Industrial Design. Graduating in May 2023, I'm actively looking for a full-time job opportunity in UI/UX design field anywhere in the world. Check out my LinkedIn and resume.

My goal as a designer is to be more empathetic towards my users and champion a future where design is more inclusive, sustainable, and ethical.

Education & Equality & Empathy
I have been working as a design instructor at KaleidoScope since 2019, an NGO that aims to help migrant children in China with art and socio-emotional learning education. Working closely with ten people in the team, I led a process of designing the curriculum of spring/fall semesters and summer workshops that are conducted in three community centers in Shanghai and Beijing. Over 100 children have joined and get benefited from our program.
In 2022, I started a project with students at RISD, aiming to design education for refugee minors at Horizon Center in Greece to create a better future. Collaborating with MIT D-Lab, we want to help beneficiaries to get hands-on experiences, vocational skills, and design processes. We incorporated design-process and social-emotional learning into our well-structured curriculum, which in the end would prepare them to live a better life and find their own value in society.
